Rubén Salgado Escudero

Rubén Salgado Escudero is a freelance photographer born in Madrid, Spain. He lived in the United States throughout his teenage years, and graduated with a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He subsequently moved to Berlin, Germany, where he worked as a 3D character animator in the video game industry.

Ten years later, he decided to quit his job and move to Myanmar, following his passion for photography where he has spent almost 3 years telling stories which relate to social issues and the hardships faced by the Burmese people after a half a decade of a suppressing military rule.

He is a recipient of various awards including the Sony World Photography Awards, Picture of the Year (POY) Latam, and the Foreign Correspondent’s Asia-Pacific Photojournalism Award.

Rubén´s international clients include National Geographic Magazine, TIME, GEO, The New York Times, and Al Jazeera-America, The Wall Street Journal amongst others.

His work have been exhibited in more than a dozen countries across the world.
