Cedric is a National Geographic Magazine contributor. He has a background in journalism and spent the last decade pushing the limits of his visual storytelling practice, navigating between photographic essay, web documentary and length-feature film. He marks a strong interest in exploring both foreign and familiar places
His work received several international recognitions (The Olivier Rebbot Award from the Overseas Press Club of America, World Press Photo, Amnesty International Media Award among others). Images by Gerbehaye are to be found in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris and the FotoMuseum in Antwerp.
After working in the Middle-East and Africa for a decade he investigated the extraction of natural resources in South America. Currently he is documenting the Covid-19 pandemic in Belgium and also works on his first long feature documentary film inside a prison in Brussels. While continuing to develop new narratives, he frequently shared his acquired experiences in workshops, masterclasses and courses.
