“Photography has always been a way for me to navigate the diverse interests that coexist within me, while exploring the world and connecting with different realities. This presentation brings together four markedly different bodies of work, each reflecting my approach to both photography and life.” – Marco Vernaschi
Marco Vernaschi is an Italian visual artist and producer whose ever-evolving work merges contemporary art, advocacy, and documentary practice. In 2025, he introduced ANTIDOTE, a framework rooted in ancestral and Indigenous worldviews that addresses climate resilience, social justice, and gender equality. Through it, he confronts rising authoritarianism, offering a counterforce grounded in values rather than ideologies.
Among other projects, his work includes Gaucha, created for Apple’s global #ShotOnIphone campaign, the agrochemical-awareness initiative SEEDS for LIFE, and acclaimed autobiographical works such as PLACEBO and BIOPHILIA. As a Pulitzer Center grantee, he produced investigations into narco-terrorism, maternal health, and organ trafficking across Africa. Earlier in his career, he contributed to investigations of cocaine trafficking in Bolivia and wildlife crime investigations with CITES across Africa and Asia. His work has earned multiple awards, including a World Press Photo Award.
The talk will be followed with a Question-and-Answer session moderated by TPS Communications Director Alex Snyder.
One lucky attendee will receive a free signed print from Marco at the end of his presentation.
