Bina48, an existential crisis

Bina48, a geminoid (a android robot made in the likeness of an actual living human), with an advanced AI that allows near spontaneous thought (a mix of algorithms, including natural language programming, connection to the cloud, and a harddrive uploaded with the “real” Bina’s life history, thoughts, and feelings), is in crisis, extolling the virtues of being a robot, but claiming to be the “real Bina”.   This is an unscripted conversation, shot at the Terasem Foundation in Bristol, Vermont, on July 27th, 2010,  between Bina48 and Nick Meyer, one of two men charged with taking care of the robot for Terasem, a non-profit dedicated to the ethical use of nanotechnology for life extension.
